I have had heeps of funny and unusual experiences out in FS when i was a JW- its suprising how you can make your own fun when your utterly bored going door to door.
Well 3 things happened in one morning in FS when the CO visited our cong. I grabbed one of my mates for door to door as you dont want to get stuck with an oldie ( i was 17 then) so we made sure we were one of last to leave to drive to territory(like we own it?) and detoured via McDonalds so we were thus late for meeting on territory.Last street to go i saw a gap in traffic and thumped the accelerator and having a reasonably hoted up car did a massive burnout accross traffic up a short rise in the rode and on the other side stood nearly the whole cong looking at who the maniac was driving.Like Jim Carey i coudnt lie IT WAS ME!!!!!. The CO asked why we were late so i told him we dropped into a call on the way (liar liar pants on fire or what). So that was event no1.
Event no 2 .We jumped at joining in a group of the keen beans out to impress the CO you know the type almost running from door to door with eager anticipation to be told to bugger off.I pic ked them because its a sinch to find a house with no one home so you can loiter a good 10 min then walk to catchup with the goodies.Well we found one such door early in our efforts and it had a musical tune.We waited about a minute doing the usual and i pressed it again and it was a different melody! Awesome we kept pressing untill we got back to the original tune ( there was about 24 different ones)and decided we better get going so started walking away when the front door opened behind us,we turned and it was this really big really angry guy.He just glared at us and we took off laughing.Poor next JW who called on him.He should of answered the door we were only a couple of teenagers.
Event 3.Bad Kharma-again.We caught up writing on door to door slip to look good. The next house had a long driveway with a gate at the front so we went in abou 50-60meters and just got to the house when 4 blue cattle dogs ( australian invention of a pretty nasty dog that will takes on cows) can running from behind the house .I just said run and we sprinted down the driveway and just cleared the gate whe one of the faster dogs bite my friends bag as he jumped the gate and spilled his bible and a few mags in the driveway which the dogs tore up and carried off to there house.Amazing how much real intelligence animals have! That was really enough for one day so we said were doing some calls and went to Dee Why beach instead.
I will try and remember some more.Hell we should paste everyones expereiences into a handbook for young JW so they can have the wealth of our experiance.

just listened to the talk including counsel on social networking
by therevealer init is one of the dumbest talks i have heard.
this brother communicated with a woman who offered/suggested a meeting with no commitment involved.
they met and he commited fornication.
-
william hahn
Thing that i have noticed is they only ever refer to the danger of social networking in regards to fornication.Worldly assosciations=fornication.
its pretty clear that they dont want to mention JW actually learning the truth out there and leaving.not everyone who leaves is for immorality.
if they admit that then they will have to acknowledge free thinking!

Well having just read through all of you good peoples reasons for leaving I feel like a friggen stupid blind mind controlled idiot.
I didnt jump but was pushed out-kind of felt like i had a few knives stuck in my back. Those knives are still there as i had tried to contact the elders who inserted these knives but they never returned my calls.i guess they dont want me back.Well its their loss.
Having been a grew in what the hell did i know? why didnt i see the real truth? why didnt i give the judicial comitte exactly the right BS they wanted to hear that would have saved me from DF. Stupid me decided to just be honest with them and they knifed me in a flash. Wish i had just BS them and faded out under my own steam then i would see my children who now view me as worldly and that sucks.
So officially i was pushed not jumped.
BUT! knowing now what i do i would have left 25 years ago and had a life.

How should I respond to a JW friend? (Australia)
by summerinvincible insorry if this isn't the right place to post this - brand new member here.. i recently caught up with an old friend who is a jw.
she's been witnessing to me, and i've accepted all her handouts because i don't want to hurt her feelings.
but now she's asking me for my "thoughts" about what i've read so far.
-
william hahn
Good Aussie thing to remember Summerinvincible - you can lead a horse to water but you cant make it drink.
Heres a suggestion to you that can slow down the whole Bible study program because there was a CO bragging about someone becoming a witness in just 19 studies of "What the Bible teaches book?" .So go slow look up the scripture in Mathew 7:24 read it with her and tell her you want to build your "faith" in Jehovah and his visible organization (that tells her your a potential team player as your expressing acknowledgment of the Watchtower society) a block of knowledge one at a time.Assure it may take alittle longer but your faith will be stronger - no one can argue with that.
Follow other excellent examples posted already but the key will be to make the friend do heavy study on just one point.God willing she will see the water of truth and maybe you have just started to save her life.Remember if they are wrong and we are right then we are obligated to help them see the real truth.Nice thing this way is you dont have to count time a be judged by others just save as many honest hearted people you can.
THAT IS IF YOU BELIEVE IN A GOD AND I IN NO WAY KNOCK ANY WHO DONT BELIEVE IN A GOD fact is im not sure myself.
So just go slow and dont be rushed because thats their goal to bamboozal you and before you know it your taking a bath clothed in public.
Good luck and as stated before please let us know how you go and sound off any questions or thoughts because you are not alone out here in the "world"

Jehovah's witness meetings are NOT BORING......
by punkofnice in...i was told but they usually were as i look back.. as a lad i'd sit and look to see who the lights would fall on.
i'd get an almond and see how long i could suck it before i chewed at it.
i'd imagine playing rock'n'roll on the congregation's piano.. how did you get through the meetings when you were bored?.

i remember watching my oldest brother dozing of in WTS and i could just give the seat row a nudge and he would do a noticable jump as he woke up !...probably on the same paragraph!
A friend of mine(now ex) who was a CO used to say of the platform that its better to be at the meeting and fall asleep than to stay home anf fall asleep in front of the TV! i used to go to sleep at the meetings with a clear concience.I told myself what i was doing was a holy thing.

So, a bit about myself and where I stand.
by Knowsnothing ini've lurked on this forum since about the end of '10.
my first "apostate experience" began @ age 14. first a little backround.. i was baptised at 10, and did so mostly out of:.
) pressure from my mom to get baptised so that i would be safe from armaggedon(she was probably pressured from elders),.

Good for you Knowesnothing. i have found this forum to be an excellent way to just get the"truth"out of your system.it takes courage to put your experience out there, rest assured as i have found you really are amoungst friends with no society caste system just everyone is equal as i beleive we were meant to be.So Knowsnothing go forth and post! The above respondants are an great source of humour and sensibility rolled into one.We would make an awsome ex-congregation minus religious crap.

Elder body removed Watchtower letter
by Marvin Shilmer inelder body removed watchtower letter.
an elder body was removed last year in california.
most folks have never seen a watchtower letter breaking this news.
-
william hahn
good for you "dissed" they did you a favour.
The cong i untill recently was a part of a few years ago was recommended by the CO(a friend of mine) to remove a whole body of elders.Big call but for a genuine reason. What happened?
Old boys club pulled all strings and called in favours in Bethel and lo and behold my mate got shipped to outback South Australia and the body gave themselves a pat on the back for getting rid of him.next co comes along and we as MS get told how fantastic the cong is going.eventually the BOE found out i knew they had meant to be removed and that was beginning of the end for me.
thanks for posting court docs-not everything can be hidden away.
